Scientists have concluded that the Ivory-billed woodpecker is now present in the Big Woods of Arkansas. Recent sightings in Florida have warranted compelling evidence for a substantial research effort with parties from Auburn University, Cornell University, Oakwood College, The Nature Conservancy, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Arkansas Audubon Society, and other members of the Big Woods Conservation Partnership.
